THE NIGERIAN EDUCATION IN THE PERIOD OF SOCIO-POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC UNCERTAINTY: WAYS FORWARD

Nwajiuba, Chinyere A.

Faculty of Education Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka

Education in a period of socio-political and economic uncertainty, is what we have gathered to reflect on. And so reflecting on the theme, what comes to mind is simply to say that Nigeria, our beloved country is faced with frequent disruptive changes, where the past experiences is not a very good predictor of the future, most especially the future of Nigerian Education. In order words, we seem to be unclear about the future of Education in Nigeria. And so the question becomes, how should we address education in an uncertain Nigerian Society? I believe this is the focus of this conference.
